OSFI
OFSI stands for ‘The Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions’. The OSFI is a separate and independent agency run by the Canadian Government which reports to the Minister of Finance. The OFSI was formed in order contribute to the creation of public confidence in the Canadian financial system. The Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions is the solitary regulator of Canadian Banks, as well as the main regulator of Canadian insurance institutions and companies, pension providers, and loan companies too.
